Yesterdays (1967), Black and White
4"x5" B/W edition of 115 pcs
"The title of this piece resonates with the subject. The name of the picture is as important as the picture itself." E.S.
During a family discussion about this lithograph of a woman, my father asked us what we saw as we looked at her face. The picture was untitled at that time.
The elderly woman's face was lined with wrinkles. Who was she, where did she come from, what kind of life did she have, and what would she tell us if she could?
Yesterdays
The edition after Yesterdays was named "I Remember." It is a portrait of a man drawn on the same stone as the woman. They were often sold together as one piece with two titles.
Yesterdays and I remember were pulled in black and white and sepia tone and sold out upon release in 1967.
