Scribe of Rivington Street(1966/67)

10"x14" B/W Edition 100 pieces

Rivington Street is a street in NYC which runs across the Lower East Side and Pitt Street. Traffic runs west on this one-way street. It was named after James Rivington, who wrote Loyalist newspapers in the American Colonies and ran a spy ring that supplied George Washington with information.

In the early 20th century, the street was home to many Italian and Jewish immigrants and the birthplace of many second-generation Italian and Jewish Americans.
