The Sabbath, The Jewish Sabbath (tradition-rest) is observed on the seventh day of the week-Saturday. According the biblical tradition, it commemorates the original seventh day on which God rested after completing the creation. The day offers a respite from the hectic pace of the week. Shabbat begins at sundown on Friday and ends with Havdalah- a short ceremony the separates the Shabbat from the rest of the week-on Saturday evening. The sketch on board was preparation for an oil painting that was not completed.
