Carnegie Hall (1981)
Carnegie Hall (1981)
10"x14" B/W Edition of 100 pcs-Poster
My father loved music and great singers. Jan Peerce (Jacob Pinchus Perelmuth) was a man my father adored, and vice versa for Jan; my mom and Alice also formed a friendship, and whenever Jan would be singing in the New York area, my parents, Alice, and sometimes I would sit in their box seats.
Their friendship was unique based on their love for Judaism and respect for each other's gifts.
My father preferred his images to be sold on posters, but he compromised by printing only 100 pieces of each poster and only for special events. He enjoyed meeting young people (especially with a small budget) and gladly signed posters for them. Carnegie Hall was used as a fundraiser project. The lithograph of Carnegie Hall hangs inside the Carnegie Hall building on the corner of 57th Street and 7th Ave, NYC.
Emanuel Schary set aside a few posters of each image and passed them on to his son before he died in 1994.
