My father and I visited our local barbershop every few weeks. My father knew some of the customers and made small talk with others. The owner was familiar with my Dad's artwork of the Lower East Side and consistently asked why his barbershop was not in one of his pictures. 'Barbershop' with the image of the owner was created.
