A Long Thin Line (1981), Hand Color

1981 was a challenging year for my father due to health issues. He struggled to draw and paint and used a special brace on his right hand and arm. During the year, he completed 2 masterpieces. A Long Thin Line was a Hnad-colored edition of 50 pieces as an exercise (physical therapy) to help while he recovered. The concept for the painting was created in 1980. He was passionate about this image and spent months preparing and drawing this litho. It took more than a year to handcolor the 50 pieces. The title and image are intriguing. The thin line is a term used for "between life and death."
