Collection: Pastels

The pastels in this catalog are in private collections. They date from the early 1950s through 1991. Emanuel Schary's pastels, like all his work, are rare due to the small amount of work he produced. 

A unique aspect of many pastels by Emanuel Schary is the usage of tonal colors to create the image.

 As much as he enjoyed working with pastels, he enjoyed the disciplines of painting, lithography, and serigraphs. He also worked in clay, wood carving, stained glass, and etched glass.
